Hello. Yes it is very normal to hear some snakes breathing. Pacific boas are common due to the enlongated noses and small nostrils. I have had many snakes over the years that can be easily heard. None ever showed any signs of ailment. Just watch out for squeeking sounds, popping or bubbles. I hope that helps you. Good luck with your pacific, arent they awsome snakes??

i have a jungle carpet python and when i have him out i can hear him breathing. sometimes he makes a huffing sound like he doesn't want to be handled. i've heard him for months now with no signs of illness.i've also gotten responses that its normal in some snakes.
