If I had the spare cash/ room/ time, I would have considered those guys myself. Very nice.

Did you straighten everything out with Terry?

Don't take offense to this at all, but when I read that you needed some tips on "taming these", the first thing that came to my mind is that you are getting in way over your head. They are a very touchy varanid, and they will deffinatly teach you what they want, they only hard part is recognizing what that is and soon enough. Deffinatly don't believe the hype of them jumping up to grab the mice, as after about 3 years, my male is just began taking mice off hemos this year. Even then, I have to basically not let him see me to do it. Your's are very young. I would say that they aren't quite a year old yet. If they behave anything like mine, and others, in a couple months the challenge is going to begin. Good luck with them. They are the most interesting varanid I have owned.

I agree with you he may be in over his head. I must say though my female though coming to me in not so great shape is turning around nicely. She will charge the glass to take food from tongs or my fingers if I am not paying attention. I found it suprising since the male who came to me in great shape still will only eat once I am gone.

Hopefully I have enough time to straighten the girl up before they decide to slumber. She is twice the animal she was on arrival.

Take care and good to see you post about yours. Been awhile since I have seen them. Hope all goes well for you.

they are a hand full but once you get a hold on them they calm down a lot ,its just that when i walk up to the cage they go crazy, and i was wondering if that is just them or will that change once they get use to me?
