Remember the Macropisthodon flaviceps pics posted by Francis Tan...???

Remember those pics of M.flaviceps fangs posted last year by Francis Tan?? He mentioned something about the wriggling of the fang.I would like to know about the condition of the fangs in other Macropisthodon sp.Especially M.plumbicolor, because I found some line drawings of this snake's fangs in a book and it seems almost parallel to the maxilla. In that position it should be almost useless.I wonder whether it can rotate the maxilla.Any comments???
Thanks.

This is just hearsay (i.e. I didn't actually see it happen) but one of my friends swears that he saw a M.plumbicolor sort of rotate it's fangs. One friend was holding a M.plumbicolor by the head while the other one was counting the head scales. The one who was counting swears that he saw one fang sort of slip out of the mouth and poke the other friend in the thumb. The snake never moved it's head. However, since I was counting an Argyrogena fasciolatus at the time, I didn't see it myself. I did however see the bite mark on the ball of my friend's thumb.

Any bad effects from the bite?
