Hey has anyone had any success with a bedding called Carefresh?(a compressed cardboard like substrate that looks a bit like kitty litter) Or should i just stick with aspen shavings?

I know its a wonderful bedding for guinea pigs, but I'm not sure about reptiles.

can be kind of drying for snakes, which works if you have a rosy boa or other desert type snake, but not for cornsnakes.

I used carefresh for a few years with lots of different snakes, including corns. It worked great, & I never had a problem with the snakes drying out.
It was spectacular for eliminating odors - especially in my mouse house.
The only reason I don't use it extensively is the cost.
If I just had a handful of animals it'd be my #1 choice.
A really good quality pine shaving is my second choice, but that comes down to a personal preference over aspen.

For animals that really need a lot of humidity (rainbow boas, sunbeam snakes, etc.) I use cypress mulch.

Cheers, Max
