Vision cage question?

TheCrimsonGhost Aug 13, 2005 09:40 PM

I am thinking about getting some new cages for my boas. I know someone local who has some barely used visions for sale. I have heard from a couple people that visions tend to warp when using under tank heaters, is this true? I have also heard that they are hard to get a good heat gradient in, is this also a common problem?

Thank you
Jon

If they are warping the UTH is way too hot. I put the UTH(thermostat controlled) on the same side as the basking lamp.. no problems with heat gradient. Check out my post below.

Have used them before...EXCLUSIVELY. Had them warp because of excessive heat, but also had them warp and buckle from being stacked on top of each other.

If you use multiple visin cages, you need to have them in a rack set up. If not, they warp and the door tracks compress making it impossible to take out the glass for cleaning or better access.

I like the smaller Visions. From what I have seen, the Boaphile cages seem to be the way to go. I have a good friend that uses them and he is VERY PLEASED.

My 0.2 cents

I also use them with no problem. I have them set up the exact same way, with heat on the light side. As long as your are using a thermostat you shouldnt have any problems.
