green iguana discoloration

ive noticed that this past week my green iguana has turned a dark grayish color on his back and his back only. this was during his shedding, but stayed afterwards. i know hes done shedding, but could it be dead skin maybe? it wont peel off, maybe its some disease? please email me at ridethesky900@comcast.net
