I'd like to know what type of housing (screen/reptariums or glass/plastic containers) are most commonly used for crested geckos, and why?
Thanks in advance,
Cricket

We've only got one, still a baby at 8 gms. He's in a 10gal aquarium w/ screen top, bare bottom and some artificial vine/plants to climb on. We put a small bowl of water (yes, ours drinks out of it, we've caught him at it) and a small bowl of baby food or CGD depending on the day.

We've found that for a sigle or breeding trio, that a glass tank,
measuring 18"L x 18"W x 30"H works best as a minimum. we have also found that a half glass, half screen top helps the air and humidiy balance out. of course these are fully planted and tree filled enclosures but it's a lot better then a twenty tall.
i guess i'm saying a a taller tank, with some ventilation and if possible a side door.

i have mine in a glass 29 gallon tall aquarium with a sliding screen top. i have orchid bark on the bottom to retain moisture and allow easy cleaning, a live plant anda waterfall along with some branches. but i will soon replace the bark with a dirt/sand mix i use on my monitors that holds moisture well, plant the plant in the cage and then plant another plant. i may also make part of the screen lidn into plexiglass to hold moisture.
