New Baby

MGStarkey606 Aug 14, 2005 11:42 AM

Sorry for the blurry pic.

This is my first crested hatchling.
So far it is set up in a little kritter keeper with foilage and a small dish for water. When should I offer crickets? I am going to give it some baby food tonight.

Incubation time was only 61 days. The other egg has not hatched yet. Thanks for looking.

Aww. The babies are so small. Hmm. Well, I've hatched leopard geckos before, and I know that they'll take crickets after they've shed. But I'm not sure about crested geckos. =/

i don't have babies eat anything that moves until they are over a month old usually.
usually just the crested gecko diet and every once and awhile i'll throw some small ones in there that i find in the adult cages to see if they'll eat them.

Mine don't show much interest in crix either when they're that young except to watch them, like some weird form of entertainment.
I usually dab a bit of the CGD diet on their lips every night or so until I see them licking it. Probably not necessary, but it's hard to tell whether they're eating otherwise, and I feel better when I can witness it.
