Just out of the egg...

jlassiter Aug 14, 2005 04:06 PM

One female MSP....nice and clean...It's a female too.
The other is a leonis phase and it is TINY! I am afraid to sex it just yet but it is a screamer in my book. I really can't tell if it is going to be yellow, peach or what....It is sorta transparent in some spots...weird
Definitely keepers if they make it...
Let me know what you guys think of them.
They are from my Dan Vermilya orange leonis female and the Yellow leonis Evan Stahl produced...both from David Weymouth at Wasatch Reptiles (mountainkings.com).

Is that second one as white as it looks are is it more grey?

jlassiter Aug 14, 2005 05:06 PM

I really don't know...It is NOT grey at all...It is kinda peach and yellow with some transparent looking spots (I can almost see through him)....Definitely a holback future breeder.

The colors on both, especially the Leonis are amazing. The genetics this breed has, are very striking (yes, pun intended).
Good for you and your collection.

Thanks Paul,
I don't think I will ever have ALL the possible colors and patterns of these variable kings.....But the population of Thayeri in my collection tells me that I am trying like a mad man to collect them all.....LOL
Thanks again,
John Lassiter

The other MSP of mine that was still in the eggs just came out and looks almost identical to your MSP. Congrats on those two.

I still have 2 in the eggs. I got one more yellow leonis with the coolest/unusual head and neuchal patch I've ever seen on a thayeri. My camera is gone for a week or so......so no pics until next week sometime.

Both Thayeri are beautiful John, but that Milksnake Phase is just stunning.

Thanks Steve.....
I like the MSP too. I think it will be nice and yellow after shed.
The Leonis is a weird looking one...I wonder what it will look like after a shed or two???

John, that Leonis is awesome!

jlassiter Aug 15, 2005 05:43 PM

Thanks Rick....I have never seen one like it.
I hope it remains this color after a shed or two...who knows?

Congrats John.
The MSP and the leonis are incredible. The MSP phase reminds me of mine pictured below and for sure that leonis is just going to get more spectacular with age. I'm sure that makes the wait worthwhile.
Way to go,
Uncloudy Chris

Thanks Chris,
I really like the white on your MSP.
You need to send me a new pic of him/her (I forgot) or post it on the forum.
I hope you are right about my little leonis..
