How to tell what type of dragon I have?

drunkmike Aug 14, 2005 04:52 PM

I purchased a baby about 1 and a half months ago from a lady who had no idea exactly what type it was, but she just knew that she got it from a a herp show here in Havre De Grace, MD that happens alot and she only picked it because it was the nicest of the batch. Is there any way of figuring out exactly what type of dragon I have or what it is going to grow up to look like? As you can imagine it is still fairly small at this moment, but very healty, eats like a pig etc. etc.

I have 2 "normal" adult BD's that I have raised from babies, so I am 100% sure this one is not going to be a "normal" as well..

I'm going to try and explain this as best as I can as my camera is no were to be found at the moment

She is kind-of a yellowish, light brown mix for a majority of the body (more yellow on the head) with bright red markings behind the ears, around the top of her eyes and along the "lips" on her mouth. The spikes on her sides have a orange stripe right above them that kinda goes from her neck back to her tail and she also has 2 stripes down the middle of the pattern in her back that run from the back of her head and it goes into her tail before it fades out. The orange color also goes onto her legs a bit as well. I know its kind of hard to explain but I'm just curious as to what she might end up looking like. She is "fired up" right now after basking for a good while and the orange/red color is beautiful down her back and I can also see a hint of it on her head.

I'm only curious like this because I picked her up as a baby for $15 from the lady at the pet store only because she didnt realize how much the babies need care and how much they eat so at first I had assumed a normal but as she grows bit by bit she is getting prettier and prettier.. Any ideas what I might have here?

I found this a few minutes ago from the other day when she was splashing around in her water bowl. What do you guys think she might be?

I know its not the best picture, but my 4mp camera sucks and I was trying to keep her from splashing water on the lense at the same time Thanks for any info you might have!

She looks like my Zilla! I can't wait to find out what you find out! lol I've never known what kind he was either.

By the way, it's a red letter day. Zilla used his leash for the first time today AND he ate squash and a nasturtium blossom WITHOUT being hand fed! Yeehaw!

Well...I can't really tell. There's so many different red and orange morphs these days, and almost everyone calls them something different, lol. Hopefully someone else will be able to tell you something. Whatever she is, she's a real beauty.
