I was living in Alpine,TX during operation rockcut. I remember the flagrant LIES that were printed in various puplications such as "up to 200 snakes per night were caught in Big Bend National Park". I would have been thrilled to see even 5 snakes some nights on roads in the area (outside the park)back in those days which was during a fairly severe drought. One of the lies said that biologists reported a plague of rodents in the area laying waste to plant life due to the lack of ophidian preadators, when in fact, there has been a steady DECLINE of rodents for the last 20 years or so. Sure, there are a fair number of greedy poachers that make a living at it, but tell their stories, don't trump up ridiculous falsehoods to warrant your sting operations. Seeing these lies that I, as a nature enthusiast know are just that(LIES),really made me start wondering just how much does my goverment lie about other things. Just my 2 cents.
