When it rains in the desert it pours! We had flash floods yesterday in some parts of town, not at my house.
I sat at my front door with binoculars yesterday watching Hobo who was at the gate.
He stood up as tall as he could get in the pouring rain looking like he was having a wonderful day.
Janie sat in the middle of the backyard for hours & hours getting soaked with her head & legs sprawled out like she was enjoying this as much as he was.
The tortoise on the other hand never even so much as poked her head out of her home all day long.
The boxies look like tiny dinosaurs out there.

Rain? Hmmmmmm.I think I remember that. Isn't that when water falls out of the sky? It's been so hot and miserable here for the past week that I've not been able to take Morris out since I have to stay outside with him. Just to give you an idea, it's 10 pm, temp is 84° and the heat index is 91°

Yeah that's the stuff. Unfortunately it's gone now, I don't hear the thousands of spadefoot toads so didn't get them recorded darn it.
It looks like the turtle kids won't have a fun day like that again for a long while. Usually they have what you have, hot & dry!
