As i posted earlier, I accidently crossed a female tharyi to a black&white calking. I was actually feeding her to him(worse then crossing, hahahahahaha) But instead, they bred.
Well, they started hatching yesterday. Now heres the funny part. So far, there is a difined split. Four have hatched, two appear to be normal tharyi and two are without question crosses. The crosses are black&white, with some red in the black bands. The tharyi appearing individuals are a normal milksnake phase and a buckskin phase. There are two more eggs to go, one pipped this mourning and it also appears a cross. It has that telltale, black and white lips.
The clutch was fairly large, 10 eggs, but i did a poor job of incubating them. If the last one hatches, it will make 6. I am so used to monitors, I set them up dry and do not even look at them for many months. I have had monitors take over a year in incubation.
About 10 days ago, I looked in on the snake eggs and they were very dry. I lost most of the pure tharyi clutch(they were very close to hatching) and a few of the crosses.
I guess If I am going to do these things I better get use to them hatching so quick. Pics to come, I hope, FR
