Baby's has a cold ?!? HELP !!

halsbandleguaan Aug 15, 2005 04:31 PM

Hi,

Is there anyone who can tell me whats up to some of my baby's ??
Some of them are puffing and snacking to air.
Also some of them have slimy separation on their mouth.

Could it be a cold, or are there some ohter suggestions ??
And ofcourse.......... what to do ??

Thanks Peter.

Sounds like it is pretty severe if they are having problems breathing and also by your description sounds like mucus from their mouth.

A Vet is the only way to go on this one my friend, need antibiotics if this is a resp infection!

Are they holding their heads pointing upwards ? Are you hearing any poping sounds as they breath, ?

or any kind of sprays or anything around them, that may have caused this reaction have you? Anything you can think of?

I would have to think respiratory infection like I said or some sort of reaction to something toxic !

Geesh let us know how you make out, I hope you can get them some help . Think they need some quick medical help.

The only thing I use is an desinfection liquid to clean the hole place.
It's something that Vets also use to clean their stuf.
It is to dilutes(?)1:100 , so it don't harm the animals.
After using it I also wash the parts with clean water.

I thing it's more like a cold or infection of the longs.
And hope to destroy it with antibiotics.

I don't hope its something like mouths-rotting ??(if there is a Englisch word for it).
That seems to be more difficult to terminate.

Their heads are not pointing up. But some of them have a klick-sound when they open their mouth to breath.

Now I start to erease the temperture more higher.
And also to place some cut unions in the room.

I do have Baytril (2,5%) as antibiotic, but wil wait on what the Vet will say.

Hope to get rid of it.

I'm sorry your babies are sick buddy! Hope the baytril helps them. Thats usually what they use.

The cleaner your talking about is probably what or close to the same thing I use here for all my tanks, floor, everything. Here it is called Nolvasan/Chlorhexadine. I make it up by the gallon, dilite with water.

Peter, keep us updated about the babys. I sure hope they get well quick.
