aussie and new guinea frilled dragon size difference???

TBH Aug 15, 2005 06:20 PM

i was speaking to someone at a reputable reptile shop and she said that the new guinea frilled dragons only got a little bigger than a bearded dragon. is this true? i would like to believe it, but you would think that there would be care sheets for this smaller subspecies with less space requirements or something, if they in fact only grow slightly larger than a beardie and can be housed in a 100 gal. please correct me if i am wrong... or tell me if i'm right cuz if they are small then i can afford one.
thanks, sorry if this is slightly incoherent...

NG females body is not much bigger, but they are longer beacuse of their tail. Males can still get upwards of 30" with their tail. I would not recommend a 100 gallon tank. Frilleds are aboreal the majority of the time and like to climb and bask on branches. They also require much more handling to be tame compaired to the much more mellow bearded. They are very awesome animals, but should be kept properly.
