Not sure if i can help...If she is that ill to the point of dying, I'd say a vet could help you more.

well im not sure , this is my second chameleon my first one had past away from pop eye disease or something i dont remember what he said it was , but my veield chameleon laid eggs about a week ago and she is really skinny and her eyes are sunk in her head a little(but more then when she first laid her eggs) and i had to fource feed her last night , well i have to feed her for her and get her mouth to open but she ate them on her own , i only gave her 3 crickets i know thats not enought trust me i know but i didnt want to cause her more stress so i fed her a little bit and i gave her water out of my spray bottle but she spit it up after a few minutes. i had cal. in the water but then i rinsed it out and put fresh water in it and let her drink frsh water from the spray bottle but i dont know if she ended up spitting that out or not. and she's lost a little bit on her grip but she still could hold on to the branch , but she fell once...im doing everything everyone has told me to do so far and it dont seem to be helping....do you have any suggestions? im cant get a ride to the vet now because im at work and my mother doesnt get off untill 5pm here(jacksonville florida). i jsut want to get as many auggestions from as many people as i can find to see if i can get something different and maybe that would work...so anything you could suggest PLEASE say it.

sounds like she is severly dehydrated and hungry, try to make bug juice (dont know recipe :/ ) and get pedialyte and force feed her those, the pedialyte will restore elyctrolytes and will help hydrate her, in the mean time, leave a note for your mom that you went to the vet asap, and then CALL friends or other ppl and ask for rides to thew vet!!!! this is the only way, you have to save your cham! I had to do this twice, calling 5 friends and at least 1 of them said they would take me!!! well good luck!!! keep us psoted!

I'm sure you've checked temps and humidity.
How many eggs did she lay? Do you think it's possible she has more? Has she been checked for parasites?
I have a male, so I'm not going to be of much help. I can only suggest you take her to the vet (with a fecal sample) as soon as you can.
You may also want to consider Parazap (www.parazap.com) in addition, it not only rids the animal of parasites but is a great appetite stimulant.

Britanny, what Vet are you trying to get into?
We use the Exotic Animal Hospital and they will see you after hours in emergencies.
I'd love to help you if I can.
Let me know,

Sharla

That is Dr Rossi's Clinic. He is world famous, a reptile expert, people drive from all over the Southeast US to see him. We are lucky to have him here in Jax, However, he is quite costly and very busy. I have had just as excellent results, more caring staff and find it's faster to get into the Exotic Bird Hospital on Old St Augustine Road, in Mandarin. 268-0204. They see all my dragons & other exotics that I have, not just birds.
Won't hurt to give them a call. They were referred to me by several other people here in town and I have not been disappointed.
PLUS, they are FAR FAR less expensive than Riverside. I rarely get out of the Riverside Hospital for under $300....LOTS of extra charges. That, plus the long drive over there and the short amount of time they actually spend with the patient made me look elsewhere.
Good Luck!

You will be very pleased with everyone there. The Vets & staff are all females & I really appreciated their caring attitudes. I didn't get ANY warmth from Riverside.
I bought a dragon from the classified from a guy "Getting out of dragons" (never again, mind you!_ and when we opened the box from shipping, she was gurgling and gasping for breath. I didn't have time to fool with Riverside and took her right up to the Exotics Hospital. They diagnosed her, kept her in ICU for 2 days, did cultures, swabs, fecals, bloodwork, gave her fluids, oxygen, etc, etc, etc....my bill was $179. I was thrilled!!!
Plus they saved her life

Keep me posted on how things go!
Good luck,
Sharla

Well, I certainly would go to Rossi for anything serious, without hesitation but I've been extremely satisified with this group of Vets at the Exotic Bird Hospital, one of the Vets trained under Rossi for several years. They have my business, lock, stock & barrel!
They see exotic mammals (skunks, squirrels, sugar gliders), reptiles & birds.
I will definately leave them something in my will....if there is anything left to give!

Sharla
