I recently moved to our family farm on the eastern shore of Virginia. I was floored when I went out the back door this morning and found this unbelievable bright orange box turtle hiking across our yard! Needless to say, I have a new pet!

if the boa forum could have a thread on dogs that was over 30 posts long and not have a problem with it, why not a turtle post here. He did warn people it was off topic in the subject line for those that don't care to read such things.

Can you imagine the possibilities if you bred that to a ghost? Or a bumblebee? Or.....?

I dunno.. it could be scam in the making. That much color.. I think he soaked it in a gatorade or koolaid.

Man thats awesome looking. 20 years ago we could catch them all the time here in Va but now I only see them very seldom. To much over building here now.

I love box turtles....they are getting harder to find in my neck of the woods. I am seeing fewer and fewer every year.

They are getting harder and harder to find in part because people keep taking them out of the wild. A box turtle can live 80 years in an area one square mile or less. Leave the turtle alone, you don't need him as a PET!

I already let it go so take a deep breath and relax. lol

I'm sure we could find the turtle again Rich. A real challenge is finding good looking single women! That seems to be an endangered species down here! LOL!!!
