Breeding question

kracaw Jul 17, 2003 10:14 AM

I was wondering how late in the year can yo ustill breed corn snakes?

Also do most corns have two clutches a year and do yo uhave to rebreed them after the first clutch or does only one breeding cover the first and second clutch of eggs?

It will depend on your location as to how late in the year to breed them, I would guess that some folks are still breeding now but it would be very late for me (I'm in FL) As far as double clutching...
It is going to depend on how robust the snake was before the first clutch and how well fed it was after the first clutch. You do not have too re-introduce a male again but I choose to, I feel it improves fertility.
Good Luck
