New Baby Egyptian

pgross8245 Aug 16, 2005 10:56 AM

I finally decided to take the plunge and get an egyptian. I have thought about it a long time considering their eventual adult size and my usual interest in the smaller, more colorful species. He/she weighs in at 36 grams and is 7.5" stl. I have him/her in a 40 breeder which is perfect for now. I have named it Halima which means gentle in eypgtian. I am hoping he/she will do well and grow to nice size adult over the next years. Enjoy.

very precious and congrats, it does seem that an egyptian is quite the opposite of an ornate or macfad, ha ha. i am very jealous. an egyptian is my next new reptile type but that won't be for a while. i look forward to seeing pictures of your baby

egyptians are great pets! i got my two girls when they were about the same size as yours and have had the pleasure of raising them for the past year and a half. they are now 12-14 inches and thriving! good luck with yours and make sure you keep us posted with his/her antics.

How old are they there? I keep waiting for Mosca to turn that darker gray color, but he is still a light brown/cream color. He just turned 1 year old this month. Not that I am complaining, but I am curious.

They're now about 1.5 years old. Their color ranges from the darker color in the pic I previously posted to a lighter color. Here is my most recent pic of them.

What a cute lil guy, I'm happy for you, I really think they make excellent pets, atleast mine has been so much more tame and friendly than the male saharan, who is after 6 years, trusting/ but nervously.

NOT the egyptian, shes a DOLL

Best wishes with the baby!
