Our corn snake wants to lay on her eggs after she lays them. She curls up around the clutch, and really fights any attempt to get her off of them. Once she has her post-lay shed, she will move around a bit more, but still wants to lay on them. If she can't get into the box with the eggs (which we've kept inside her container to help share the heat), she will lay on top of the box.

Is this unusual? How soon do we try to take the eggs away from her, and how do we keep from damaging the eggs when we do so?
