tissue in the tail is dying, can cause an ifection that can spread. Sometimes the affected area will just fall off if let go for awhile.

Sometimes they get injured, tails may be getting stuck in the lid or a door , or underneath something. A bad bite, even shed skin that will not come off and sticks tightly can cut off circulation, and cause the tail to dye.

She has to find what is causing this problem. The fact that BOTH collareds have the same thing happening to their tail, seems to say they are injuring it somehow in their tank.

She has to get them looked at and treated.

Thats a shame, I sure hope everything will be okay!

Take care,

Hi,
My female had the same problem. Be cautions mine started spreading up the tail. Luckily my females tail broke off right above the infection some how.

Good luck,
Morgan
