I recieved this email in response to an ad I had in the classifieds. I can't believe they do this on reptile sites?? Anyway, just a heads up in case anyone else has an ad out.

to the shipper via western union money transfer in order to pick up the
reptile from your location.Okay?

payment will be issue without any further delay.

I explained to him the difficulties and related costs of exporting to the uk and how that would make it impractical to do such a small deal. he wrote back and assured me he had a company that would pick the animals up at my door and convey them to him, said he'd used them before. OK, i said, i've never heard of such an arrangement but am willing to learn but befoe taking his money i'd like to assure myself the arrangements would work, would he send me a link or other info on the company so i could assure myself. He wrote back asking about sending $ again and assured me the service would work but did not provide any info on it. I wrote back one last time saying i'd need that info, and he wrote back saying i was obstructive and he'd never do biz with me again.

By the way, the subsequent emails were far more specifc about the snakes, and less suspicious, than this first one, with the exception that he'd never provide me details on the carrier.

OKAY, I did!OKAY? THANKS for the wake-up call for everyone to remain vigilant and IT NEVER hurts to ask for a little background information from ANY buyer OR seller if you're not familiar with them. Usually when you do that, most scammers get nervous and suddenly break all contact with you or send you an ugly e-mail.

(I had my run in with a scammer from CALIFORNIA earlier this year as I was trying to purchase a patternless goini from him. When I tried to get more info such as name check, address, phone number and other business info as well as info about the snake in more detail it became evident to HIM that I wasn't just going to send him a 150 bucks with NO strings attached! After my last e-mail to him, he suddenly disappeared of the face of the earth - and still havn't seen his name on the classifieds since then. - I didn't get the goini, but he didn't get a 150 bucks either!!!) I HATE THIEVES TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
