which locality of these snakes should i start off with.im new to them but i have other snakes. so im not a complete newbie

That's sort of a personal thing. I got a Sarong type because they are usually more docile. The largest and most colorful are the Biaks. They tend to be more aggressive. Aru's can be nice as well, with white on them. I would do some research first so that you know what you're getting into. Greg Maxwell's site has care sheets, and he also has a book on Green Tree Python's that has the different locales and their general appearence and temperament.

what other types of snakes do you have?
As far as GTPs.. I am a newbie still too.. but in general do not
put much faith in locality, it is very hard to prove locality
and as with all snakes, each snake is an individual, so there
are going to be relaxed "tame" snakes and straight out monster
crazy snakes from any given locality. In general, as Meg
stated, the Biak types are known for being more pissy.
I would suggest getting a captive born baby as being more
important than a specific locality.. and if no one has said
yet, it's best to get a snake a little older that way it is not
as fragile. GTPs in general are more display animals IMO...
