Trying to find out what kind of Turtle I was told about (vague description)

lonegreywolf20 Aug 17, 2005 09:55 AM

Hiya, I just got off the phone with a pet store and am trying to figure out what kind of Turtle they are talking about. I called them to see if they had any baby turtles in stock (for educational purposes of course) and they said that they did. They have a Western Painted and they aren't sure what the other one is. They gave me a very vague decription of it though. It's shell is dark with an orange stripe down the middle of it's back with orange around the underside (I think she said underside) of the shell. That's all the information she could give me on it. Anyone have an idea of what it may be?

Odds are pretty good they are talking about a Southern Painted Turtle. They are a pretty popular baby turtle with petshops. Well started Painters make good pets too, if you're wondering
