Carnival Iguanas

Iguanas as midway game prizes at a large number of carnivals now, especially in Ohio and TN. Please check your local carnivals for this activity. It is illegal in a few states.

This post shows up a few times a year. It is an awful thing that hasnt yet been stopped. If it were me, i would stage a huge protest in the middle of the carnival. Hell, give peta a call too, they would most likely eat the oppurtunity up. I have learned in the past: The bigger the stink, the less happy the person smellin it. It is pretty good advice, and it works on a lot of different levels.

I have written a letter to every carnival fair board (local sponsor) in my fair that had iguanas as prizes and asked them not to. A letter forces the board to discuss it in a meeting.
Some areas have had newspaper articles, which tends to work. Notifying the Health Department may help in some cases too.

This practice will stop when adults walk down to the carnival and demand that this be stopped. Most of the people playing are minors who are not at the fair with their parents.
