Hissing or Wheezing? (Re: igywigie, Aug 4, 2005)

I have a 3 yr old Female BRB. She's sooo sweet but she doesn't like to be disturbed when she's sleeping. I have had issues in the past where she was too dry & did wheeze but we have since fixed that & no longer have problems wih it. however, when I wake her up then try to pick her up from her tank she does let out a loud breath which I can only assume is a hiss. It's just a lot quiter than i would expect a hiss to be. She has never nipped at me, she never gets testy when i try to take her out but she does do the loud breath thing. It took me a while to get used to it... I jumped the first time I heard it... lol.
I just thought I'd put my 2 cents in cuz i thought it was interesting.

that sounds ALOT like what my snake does. Just like a little warning, like a "leave me alone!" hiss.

I've also heard such noises. Just when being picked up or moved.. but only my female makes them.
