acting strange

grnpanda Aug 17, 2005 01:31 PM

I have had a male leopard from when he was just a baby only 3 or so inches long. he seemed okay when I got him, ate well, pretty much acted normal from what I have been told about the species (he was my first reptilian pet so some of my friends told me he was growing well and looked healthy who know about reptiles)...but his latest behavior has all of us stumped...when he walks he bobs his head back and forth really obviously, not just slight movements...when he is trying to catch his crickets, he misses them by quite a bit every time-sometimes trying to catch the same cricket twenty or more times before finally catching him...its like he has horrible depth perception or maybe some type of ailment...has anyone ever had this problem...if so any suggestions?

I keep him seperate from my other 3 geckos to make sure he is still eating enough and he isnt thin and doesnt seem distraught, but its like nothing the other geckos I have seen ever do!

Thanks for any thoughts/comments!

I brought a leo from PetCO, and she seems to have a depth perception problem. Couldn't catch the crickets at all, so now I use mealworms, which I just have at her readiness at all times.

You can try that, that seems to help a little.
