Linneatus eggs!!!!

honuman Aug 17, 2005 03:00 PM

A few weeks ago I posted about my linneatus making strange screaming noises and then I caught them mating. Well -- Yesterday I found two perfect eggs laid in side the tank.

SOOO cool. Can't wait for little ones. (But I guess I have a bit of a wait as they take a while to hatch.)

I have a lineatus egg thats been incubating since July 4th and hopefully I should be getting two more eggs sometime before the end of this month.

just be sure to keep an eye out for the prelay shed. I lost two healthy eggs last week because I wasn't paying attention to the shed and missed the eggs by a day. Crickets ate the eggs. I still have three eggs going now from my 2.2 lineatus. They do take a while though, 3-5 months from what I know. if thats the case....shortly two should be going for me.

wait a second, the eggs shed.... RIGHT?

...ummm... yea NO! Flamie don't make me line your leaftail one of these days.

I know its redundant to post the prelay shed thing but seriously so many people over look that.

i think it's a good point to emphasize. i've never gotten eggs from my sikorae or lineatus so it's probably something i would over look if you hadn't mentioned it.

I had that happen with a couple phant. eggs.

Last night the linneatus pair was mating again. I heard all the female giving out that "mutant cat call" and sure enough they were at it again. They don't waste any time.
