Here is a picture of my stack but I am not sure I have the cage that has the probe attached to it in the correct place. My setup goes like this:
cage
heat pad
polystyrene
cage
helix probed taped in ridge over heat pad
heat pad
styrene
cage
heat pad
polystyrene
2x4 blocks to keep off the carpeting
Would you make chages? I would guess that the warmest cage is going to be the middle cage with the probe on but I want to be sure I am correct in this before I spend days waiting to find out if I am correct or not. The purpose of the styrene is to direct the heatpad heat up to the cage and also prevent the ridges in the Vision cages from resting on the heatpad and possibly damaging it. They are 11x17 inch Ultratherm pads so they do run to the ridges on the bottoms of the cages when stacked.
So far my middle cage is running about 2 degrees warmer than the other two but they have only been stacked for a few hours. The middle cage does have a large branch in it that the other two do not have so that may be why it is retaining more heat. I haven't taken it out to find out for sure yet.
Thanks,
The WorryWart
