i am re-posting this message in the frogs section to see if i can get some responces (they are mostly similar, anyhow). so if you.v read it before, im sorry, ignore!

hello, i was wondering if anyone could take the time to give me a few pointers about raising baby toadlets- there is not much information out there about them, and what i have found is the most basic of care.

i saved a batch of gulf coast tadpoles from drying up in a puddle of water on a gravel path. the very first few are turning into toadlets now, venturing out of the water. iv got the tadpoles in a tank with an undergravel filter, low water level, feeding 'tadpole chow' (bought at pet co), some broken shrimp pellets, and a little bit of sinking tropical fish food. they are doing fine.

i have cared for frogs a good part of my life, currently i have five wonderfull whites treefrogs that iv had for five years or so, and my trusty pac-man, whom iv had for over fifteen years. this is the frst time i have delt with tadpoles and toadlets, however, and im just a little nervouse.

when will they toadlets start to accept food, and should i feed them all they can eat? i have pinhead crickets going, and more batches staggerd so i will always have little crickets for them to eat. i can also get wingless fruit flies.

do you think i should have uv light on them right away, and what about building an outdoor enclosuer untill they are large enough to release? im just not sure what sort of cage would keep in quarter inch babies without overheating them. i saved not even a fourth of the brood from that little puddle, and i still have over six dozen of the buggers!

i want to keep them untill they are eating fine and looking feisty enough to tackle the great outdoors. i am also scouting around for good places to release them, so they will have a chance for a good life in the long run.

i appreciate your time, and i thank you for any knowlege you can pass onto me.
