lol, my male bincinctores opens his mouth everytime i pick him up but i don't think that is a good thing, he is pretending to be big and bad, like he is going to bite me, ha ha. i love kasier berg, he is such a spaz.
anyway, what do you mean not eating well? have you checked the temps in your cage? is it warm enough? how much is he eating?

Hi,
Well he wasn't eating on his own, so when he opened his mouth trying to act scary I would put food in his mouth and he would usualy swallow. But it kept getting harder to get him to swallow. This morning he was relly sluggish and didn't want to stay on his heat rock, he kept his eyes closed and would move from place to place in his aqurium. I tried to feed him today but I didn't get much down. I was going to put him outside in the sun. Unfortuanitaly instead of being a hundred like it has been all week, this morning it was cold and THICK clouds, I even felt a few rain drops. So I couldn't take him out. I just went and and checked on him, and he was stiff. So I'll probably use his aqurium as a baby cage for when hopefully my collaris pair has babies.

oh morgan, that sucks, i am sorry about your little guy but he is much better and healthier now on the other side. he does not have to worry about being sick anymore.

Thats a darn shame. Sounds as if maybe he had parasites/worms, unfortunitley thats what happens to some wc lizards. They just do not ever really acclimate to captivity.
Some will literally starve to death rather than eat. Some never become easy to handle and will always try and bite if not worked with ALOT at least daily !
I feel very sorry you lost him, it is always is a sad thing when we lose a living creature
I am however glad you do have another pair of collareds ,and can enjoy them
