rough shed

raisnok Aug 18, 2005 07:46 PM

my common corn is going through a rough shed, poor snake is shedding in pieces, the head area has shed and the eye caps came off fine, half way at the neck the skin looks stuck?? so for right now i put the snake in a container with wet paper towels, and wood shavings..... i have raised the humidity, cant figure out quiet why this keeps happening with this snake.

Try soaking the snake in some WARM(not hot!) water for about 10 minutes, then take a soft cloth in your hand and while firmly holding the snake without squeezing the life out of it, allow it to slide through your hand. If this does not work try putting him in a damp pillow case a little while to help losen the skin.

When you see your snakes eyes cloud up just mist a couple of times a day.You can also use a larger water bowl and cover the top of your cage.Just make sure it doesnt get to humid...Paul
