fatjay Aug 18, 2005 10:55 PM

My anery motley female is now large enough to breed. I'm looking to buy a male proven breeder. Any suggestions as to what color/morph I should breed her with???

Also, anybody wanna share there plans for next year?

There's lots of neat things you could try for, its all up to personal preference...

I can tell you that if you want a good variety the first year of breeding you could go with something like this...

Anery Motley...X...Motley het Anery
results:
50% Motleys
50% Anery Motleys

OR

Anery Motley...X...Normal het Anery/Motley
results:
25% Normals
25% Motleys
25% Anerys
25% Anery Motleys

Each baby would be het for the traits that they aren't showing.

Now if you wanted to work on a longer project, you could do some cool stuff in the F2 generation. For example...

F1:
Anery Motley...X...Hypo Motley
results:
100% Motley het Hypo/Anery(Ghost)

F2: (breed babies back to each other)
Motley het Ghost...X...Motley het Ghost
results:
9/16 Motleys 66% poss het Anery/Hypo
3/16 Anery Motleys 66% poss het Hypo
3/16 Hypo Motleys 66% poss het Anery
1/16 Ghost Motley

Now there are TONS of combinations that you can do with this...it just depends on what you want to try for. You could add Amel in this mix and get some cool F2s. Its totally up to you. Now I realize that a "Ghost Motley" isn't extremely rare anymore, but this gives you an idea of the things you can do.

Hope this helps!
