INTERESTING BREEDING RESULTS FROM THIS CLUTCH...

anthony james mc Aug 19, 2005 01:11 PM

I originally bred my Het Ivory male to one of my normal females , and decided towards the end of the season to back her up with my Spider.. According to records the Spider bred her the last time 16 days before she ovulated (he did breed her 2-3 times), most believe that these last breedings were useless because up until the last 3 weeks before ovulation the Het Ivory had done all the breeding... Well it wasn't completely useless because I did get a Spider out of the 6 egg clutch along with 3 possibly 4 Het Ivories (Het Ivories are a bit hard to tell in the egg, usually I can tell in the egg by the side pattern but not always it depends on how it's positioned).. I did a similiar attempt with another female that is a Poss Het albino, originally she was bred to one of my albino males, however I acquired a very nice imported animal from Logan Enterprises that I wanted to try to prove out so I used him for the remaining 3-4 weeks prior to ovulating, this animal bred her at least 3 times until she finally ovulated , they were left together the last month of breeding so maybe more copulations occured which I didn't see... It will be interesting to see if this unusual male sires any of the clutch (I believe it to be a co-dom because he looks alot like a Mojave , I'm hoping he's a Phantom instead, but I don't think I have Ralph's luck so that may be pushing my luck a bit)!!! Wouldn't it be insane if I got an albino or two and hatched out some kind of co-dom in the same clutch, making the co-dom a Poss Het albino as well, now that's something RDR would pull off, LOL, LUCKY ******* Ralph, you Rock Man!!! Anyway I'll include a pic of this unusual male I'm refering to, you all know by now what a Het Ivory and a Spider look like so I won't include those pics.. I hope the BALL GODS are watching over this clutch, she's just had her prelay shed a couple days ago but she looks thick , got my fingers crossed! Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.

Actually that pic is a very good example of what he looks like he's bad*** I think, he's a great breeder and feeds very well which is awesome since he originally was an imported "bush baby", I just hope he proves out as I would love to take this gene into my Het Ivories and Mojaves down the road!! David from Logan Ent. hooked me up nicely on this bad boy! I hope I can post a cool update in about 85-90 days! Time will tell I guess! Even if I don't get anything this season I will run him on 2 more females this winter , if he does prove out this year he'll see plenty of girls this winter! Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.
