Overfeeding?

crotalidking Aug 19, 2005 01:24 PM

Can you overfeed a growing panther chameleon. I have a 7 month old who will eat whatever you put in his cage. I feed him 6-8 large crickets a day and occasionally worms.

Thanks.

Overfeeding a growing male is pretty hard to do, but you CAN oversupplement them. At this age they don't need calcium every day nor do they need vitamins every day. If you are dusting every feeding I would start cutting back. Minerals to every 2-3 days and vitamins to once a week. Once rapid growth has slowed (at about a year) minerals once a week and vitamins once a month at the most.
