it is completely normal for your corn to "yawn". Because their jaws become unhinged when they eat and drink they sometimes need to line them up in the proper position by "yawning".

Realigning the jaw is not yawning

Iv noticed over the last 20 years of snake keeping that many do indeed have random "yawns" ie they have not fed or drunk . it could be to keep the muscle tone right ( a type of snake jaw exercise )...

Hmmm..

I know they yawn after eating and sometimes after drinking, but my snakes, yes I now have 2, especially Smeagol my new snake yawns at various times for no apparent reason including when handling. He/she will be all calm and then yawns, twice in half an hour on saturday. Upon seeing this my mother exclaimed "it's mean it's trying to bite you get rid of it" hilarious moment.

Yes, my snakes frequently yawn. After eating/drinking they do the whole jaw realignment thing, but at other times they do what seem to be more long, peaceful yawns like any other animal.

Yes they yawn and like all yawns they are contagious, sometimes I fake a yawn in front of my snakes and then they all yawn back. ok, I'm sorry, I couldn't resist teasing you a little. Mine really do seem to yawn occasionally, and not just after eating or drinking, but it never makes me want to yawn, so maybe it's not a real yawn...grin
