These arent my snake tanks, but i thought id share them all with you. To me, someone that lets there snakes live in these conditions shouldnt even be owning them. or is it just me? i know these are bp's but i feel the blood forum has the most opinonated people in it.

in the 6th pic down, the snakes mouth was locked into that position. he wouldnt close his mouth at all. no clue why (maybe respiratory issue).

Hey,
I'm sorry but Ball Python or not, this person should not only not be owning these or any other type of snakes, but should also, in my opinion be reported to animal control for animal cruelty. I'm sorry, but that is just wrong and out right deplorable. If you can share this persons name, I would personally send him an email lambasting his cruel and inhumane treatment of these poor snakes.

That's bad real bad. I would report him even if you don't think it would help you might be surprised with the out come. I hate when I see stuff like that it makes me real mad. I see people post pic's of their animals and cages that are filthy no water stuck sheds and say they want more animals. I can't even begin to understand their thinking I just want to smack some sense into them.

Hey,
Either this guy has a case of Tetanus, or he's suffering from a serious case of RI. He's in need of a good and thorough check up bottom line on this guy by a good vet. Talk to your friend man, and put him in his place. What kind of keeper is this guy anyway. This guy doesn't deserve to have that many animals in his care.
Teanus: What is tetanus?
Tetanus, commonly called lockjaw, is a bacterial disease that affects the nervous system. Due to widespread immunization, tetanus is now a rare disease.

What are the symptoms of tetanus?
A common first sign of tetanus is muscular stiffness in the jaw (lockjaw), followed by stiffness of the neck, difficulty in swallowing, rigidity of abdominal muscles, and spasms.

Where are the tetanus bacteria found?
The tetanus bacteria live throughout the environment and are commonly found in soil contaminated with manure.

That's just foul. I would never for a second let my snakes live in those conditions. Why is it that everytime I hear a horror story, more often than not it involves a ball python?

If I were you, I'd find his snakes new homes while he was gone. Maybe that's extreme, but no animal should be subjected to that sort of neglect.

youre right, i probably should but that wouldnt be right. everyone has the right to face their accuser and this is no different. id rather be the honorable person and say "Youve got to take better care of your snakes" rather than "i gave all of your snakes away while you were gone and unable to do anything about it". Some of you may disagree with that, but i would like to think that everyone should get at least a "warning" so to speak, before doing something rash. Besides, doing something like that would be disrespectful and in some places would be considered theft.

As for whats going on with the snakes, i cleaned out all of the tanks and managed to get 60% of them eating with a couple eating more than one.

Hopefully he will listen. Luckily they have you to care for them in the meantime.

Not only is it unhealthy for the snakes, it probably isn't healthy for your friend either. I'm no microbiologist... but the thought of bacteria and fungus festering in the house is gross.

Good luck to you.

Hey,
I'm sorry but those animal control people work under stringent guide lines, so I doubt that they would allow that to go unchecked. Give them a try if you're serious about this guy and his deplorable treating of those bp's. This guy should be stopped bottom line. The ball is in your court. No pun intended!

That's downright nasty and uncalled for. I'm surprised more of those snakes don't have respiratory infections, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if several had skin infections. That amount of mold and mildew doesn't happen in a day, or two days, it takes several days for that stuff to build up like that.

DISGUSTING! Tell the owner to clean his cages!
