Introducing my pair of Occies to each other??

Bodhisdad Aug 20, 2005 10:28 AM

Hi all, I had my Male out yesterday on my driftwood snake gym, while cleaning cages. I took my female out later and let them get a good look at each other, a little tounge flicking face to face sort of thing. I was reluctant to let Lacie perch on the gym with Oreo so i just held her while they got a good look at each other. Oreo is 6.5' and Lacie is 5.5' my fear was that if one struck at ther other i could have my hands full real quick. This is a first for me with introducing two snakes to each other. Is agression ever a problem? Would it be ok to let them hang out with each other on the drift wood gym. If one dislikes the other is strikes usual or is it a hissing match with one of them retreating?? I think you know what i'm getting at, so if anyone has advice on this matter it would be most appreciated.
Thanx, Clint

I would think that you wouldn't have a problem as long as neither snake had the lingering odor of their last meal. I'll take a few out at a time for photo shots, and never have seen any agrresion here.
