If you have fire-bellies to dispose of perhaps contact a school or teacher's association and see if anyone would like some classroom pets.

my friend and I kept a fire bellied with our common snapper(baby) for quite some time and their seemed to be no problems between them, the toad was fast to get away when snuggles came over, so we thought all would be fine. about 4 months later when we saw the toad all across the tank and snuggles with his mouth full, that we were oh so wrong.
