I have received snakes from both UPS and Airborne Express. All were shipped next day air and the cost was about $30. Foam was cut to fit inside the cardboard box on all sides. The snakes were put in deli cups that were taped shut. Some even put there deli cups in cloth bags. Newpaper was used as packing most of the time but some used foam peanuts. All had very few holes punched in them and were in boxes marked as perishable.
Hope this helps...

Shiping snakes with Airborne Express is against there rules but like I said previously I have received many this way. Keep in mind none were marked as snakes. Just go online and fine where your nearest Airborne Terminal is at an airport and drop it off there to be shipped. I know you can set up an account online and they will come to your house and pick it up for you. I think it costs more though. Personally I would just drop them off that way they are in the box as little time as possible.
