I have a adult cb gtp that i got awhile back from a very reputable breeder. She has never been in contact with any of my other snakes (total quarantine from shipper box to cage) and is in a quality gtp cage at optimum temp/humid away from traffic. She won't eat and tonite when i went to check on her there was something weird on the cage floor.

It looks like 3 half inch long milky-clear wet globs of gel. Picked em up with paper towel and they arent solid. Nothing in em. They kind of dissolved because when I went back in to look at it again under better light there was nothing on paper towel but a light stain. Also there was a little (separate) urea the same size.

I am really worried. Can anyone tell me what this could be? Thanx.

How old is your chondro? Are you certain it's a female? If it was a cornsnake I would say it almost sounds like the plugs that are shed out when they go into breeder mode, but I don't know of anything like that with chondros, especially females. I couldn't find anything of relavence in Greg Maxwell's book, but you might think about posting this question over on the chondro forum at chondrowebforums@www.ezboard.com

She's definitely a female, and she's sub adult (less than 3). I purposely posted here anonymously so as to not cause friction elsewhere...if you get my drift? I have the book also, and I couldn't find anything remotely resembling this in it either.

It has me stumped. Do plugs ever look like they have no casing? They were only 1/2", but then again she's not a heavy snake...

For them to just disappear into the paper towel in the amount of time for me to move from one room to another had me going wow.

They were lying on Bed-a-Beast and very visible to begin with.

The plugs my male exuded were almost like foam. Very soft and desolved when I picked them up.
