i noticed last night that my savanna had a small scratch on his neck. its not big at all maybe like this big 'o' or even smaller. what i was wondering is should i let it heal on its own or should i get something to help it heal, like a lotion or something? thanks for any help

I had an Argus that bit another Argus. It was deep and I was worried. I followed peoples advice on here and let it heal on its own. In an extremely short period of time it was healed. Monitors seem to have unbeleivable healing ability as long as they are healthy, well fed, and propre husbandry.
I don't know what caused a cut on yours, that could be a problem.

the only thing i can see is maybe he cut himself on the vent corner. so i closed it up now and put a new one higher up. i just moved him into a new 6x3x3 enclosure and he loves it. no burrows yet but hopefully soon. as for the cut i just checked it out and it already looks better than it did last night, so im a lot less worried.

If the monitor is healthy and given correct conditions (cage setup/husbandry) it will heal rapidly on its own.

You should however look into the cause.
