I'll start first. Someone recently asked me "How long are you going to keep your iguana?" It was so odd, I wasn't sure if the person thought iguanas were like stock trading, and you keep more or less, depending on market conditions, or if they were asking how long iguanas live. For us, Iggi has long since passed being a pet. To us, she is a family member, not to be given away.

heh...people often see me and my iggy and they ask :'is that REAL?"...like i would be carrying around a 12 pound fake iguana.

The other question i get is 'what is it?'. when i tell them that SHE is an iguana, they act all surprised and say 'i didnt know they got that big!'. And then i get the always intriguing 'i had one once but it was a dwarf. It lived in a 20 gallon tank and i fed it crickets.'

Someone once stopped their car in front of our yard, while my wife was walking Iggi outside. They asked "Is that tail real?" My wife laughed, and replied "Yes", but was thinking "No! her real tail is at the vet's office for a checkup! This tail is a rental. We have to turn it in tommorow!" LOL!

Once when we had Chaos ( our cuban rock iguana) outside someone was walking down the street and came to a screeching halt and asked if he was an aligator, lol it just struck us funny at the time,
