Changes after shed

khara Aug 21, 2005 12:05 PM

I have a question about changes in coloration and patterns after sheds. I've noticed that with the last two sheds Sobe's coloring and markings have changed.

After Sobe's second shed the light spots on the dark area along his back are more pronounced, he's getting a bit more yellow and his head is getting lighter. He's beautiful but how long will his coloring and marking continue to change? With each shed or until he's full grown? How does that work?

...And just cause I'm a proud ball python Mom his a couple of pics of my baby... =)

He's a cutie - over the years they may change slightly - sometimes appearing darker - sometimes appearing lighter - it's fairly normal to see some variation in their colorinig.

Thanks so much for the reply. I've never had Sobe sexed so I don't know if "he's" male or female. How old was your snake in the before pic that you posted? Sobe is 4 months old and has shed twice with me. Sobe is definitely getting lighter. I plan to take pics after each shed to compare.
