The mother is fading away..

beeper71 Aug 21, 2005 02:05 PM

A few days after laying the clutch of eggs that resulted in the "immaculate conception" baby ball my "Ozzy" ate a medium size rat and since then has refused to feed.
She has been finicky like this in the past but now she is getting quite thin and weak and simply will not eat. Am I loosing her? Can I force feed her? What?

Very worried here.

Took her for a "walk" this afternoon. Seems the fresh air and sunshine helped, she is now busy bathing/shedding and looking better and more active. With all thats going on with the little one I had overlooked the fact she needed to shed.
Still, this is the thinnest she has ever been. I will keep trying with the feedings and hope for the best.

Keep her temps up and she should come around soon.

If you haven't already done so...give her a good rinse and put her on fresh bedding.

Looks like I was worried over nothing. After the time in the sun, a bath and successfull shedding she is as perky as ever.

Will try a feeding later tonight.
