A 10 gallon tank is good for a single adult leo but no more. A 20 gallon long tank would be great for 2 adult leos. Since leos really can't tell us if they are cramped or not, it is best to go with this method of 10gallons of space per leo. If leos have more space to themselves, they will be less likely to stress out since they will have more of an option when it comes to hides and such.

i feel two are ok in a ten, and 3-4 in a twenty. every gecko is different, and if a gecko seems stressed by this, then you know you need to move them.

says 10,10,6'' is fine for one leo

But wouldn't it be better to not take the chance of stressing them? If 10 gallons of space per leo is better for them shouldn't we as pet owners strive to give them the best conditons we can? After all, animals should not really be thought of as "pets" but more like friends and guests.

I agree with Cleo. Think about it in this way. I would only put 2 full grown leos in a 20 gal. Beacause after you put in 2-3 larger sized hides then a calcium dish, 2 food bowls, and stuff to make the cage like nice then your already low on room. If I had my wish and a whole lot more room and a bigger room I would prefer to stick 1 leo in a 20 gal tank. It made a big improvement on how my male acted adn ate. Everything improved with more room.

If you have only 1.1 leos, how would you know that 3 would be too many for a 20L aquarium? Just wanted to know what experience you are basing this on.

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two

Well, if you are following the "10 gallons of space per leo" rule, like I follow, then 3 would be too many in a 20gal long tank. I only keep one leo per 10 gallon tank, so it would make sense that I would only keep 2 leos per 20gal long tank. Of course, some people do it differently, but that is my opinion. When it comes to things like tank size and substrate and other controversial topics, you can base it on either opinion or experience or both. I have kept 2 leos in a 20gal long tank and they looked like they had just enough room so I would be hesitant about adding another leo to the mix.

Okay, as an assitant manager of a large pet store chain, I have to put in my nickle. A 20L is in dimension a 30gal tank. Its just that the water is stretched instead of going up. Leos need the ground space, not the height, therefore, even using the 10gal rule Cleo brought up, you could still put 3 in a tank, which is everywhere that I've read.

I've never heard only 10g per gecko. I currently have 1.1 in a 20L and plan on getting another female for that enclosure. I'm not worried one bit that they won't have enough of space. If leos fight or show aggression it's normally the geckos not matching up, opposed to not having enough space.

Its all personal preference her you guys/girls. I on the other hand will say 2-3 no more than that. Thats my opinon. I believe that because He have 2 leos full sized then you have atleast 2-3 hides plus decorations then you have the food bowls water bowl calcium dish. That begins to take up space some where. It also depends on what size 20 gal tank. Some are taller than others an so forth. But yet its all personal opinon. I also believe the more space the better.
