obtaining a diamondback terrapin

sleepofapples Aug 22, 2005 09:21 AM

can anyone suggest a breeder or company to get a diamondback terrapin from? i would prefer a florida diamondback (Malaclemys terrapin tequesta) a northern (Malaclemys terrapin terrapin) or an ornate (Malaclemys terrapin macrospilota) .. subadult is what i am looking for but if it is a reputable breeder i would buy a smaller one... would like to purchase from someone who i have a reccomendation for, want to make sure it is captive bred.. thanks!

There are several Diamondback specialists that appear regularly in the turtle classifieds on the kingsnake site. The one I dealt with (can't remember the name) provided me with tequesta and ornata shows up regularly. Be forewarned: they are CB and they are not cheap.
