Our tortoise has always blown me away with how friendly & personable she is with us.
I was talking to the neighbor over the fence the other day when Destiny walked by. I was standing on a cinder block that I use as sort of a step because I'm not that tall so it's hard to talk over the fence without the step.
Destiny rubbed against the brick, then turned around & did it again. I realized she wanted me to pet her, & not wanting her to scratch up her shell, I stooped down & gave her a vigorous shell rub. When she got what she wanted she went about her business grazing the lawn.
She's always let us know when she wants attention.. what happened to reptiles aren't supposed to bond with humans? Reptiles aren't supposed to have emotions? Moving rocks my foot! LOL
Now I have a box turtle behaving a lot like the tortoise, she is REALLY freaking me out.
I love it though.

Yesterday evening I was sitting on concrete part of the driveway tending to the box turtles when Destiny came right to me again. She nearly ran over the dog who was stuck to me like glue as well. She wanted a shell rub, she got one, walked away, came back for another then off to graze.
She cracks me up!
