inthedeep2 Aug 22, 2005 11:52 AM

not too sure if my spelling is correct but oh well.
my question is this, what is the difference between the two, lavendar and albino? this past weekend i aquired a lavendar king about 20'' long beautiful snake, it is striped not banded. i will post pics as soon as i can. thinking about breeding her with my mexican black.

Lavender

Ruby red eye color

sometimes peuple-ish
in color, but there are
lightly colored lavenders

Albino

Pinkish-red eye color

Pink as neonates, white as adults

both recessive genes
both are a type of "albino" (lack of dark pigment)... the two genes are just not compatible

i've seen many red eyed albino cali kings advertised as ruby eyed lavender albino, so you gotta be really careful when buying these eps. online

hope that give you some sort of idea
