I'm petsitting these pets for the week, and they have two gerbils. I went into the room one day to feed their iguana, and noticed two gerbil pups in the cage! Today I went back and counted six total! Even though I had nothing to do with "breeding" the gerbils, I still feel pretty kewl to have seen them only a day old. I guess this is how you all feel when the eggs start hatching!

You might want to be careful and seperate the pups from the male gerbil. They have been known to eat their young.

I researched it out because that's what I thought too, but the male is actually very protective of the babies and makes sure they're warm and safe. I watched the male in there, and he was helping out the mom cleaning the babies and keeping them all together. Thanks though.
